Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has officially launched its premium cruiser bike, the Rebel 500, in India. This latest addition to Honda’s lineup comes with a bold retro look, powerful engine, and strong road presence. It is available for booking at BigWing dealerships across the country, and deliveries will begin in June 2025.
Let’s take a closer look at what makes the Honda Rebel 500 stand out in the mid-size cruiser segment.
Classic Cruiser Look with Modern Finish
The Honda Rebel 500 carries a classic cruiser design that will grab attention on Indian roads. The low-slung seat, wide handlebars, and sculpted fuel tank give it an authentic retro charm. It features a round LED headlight along with round LED turn indicators, enhancing its vintage appeal.
The entire engine block is exposed, adding a muscular and raw look to the motorcycle. Honda has launched it in a single matte gunpowder black metallic color, giving it a bold and minimalist style.
Smooth Riding with Comfort-Oriented Suspension
Honda has equipped the Rebel 500 with a 41mm telescopic front fork and twin rear shock absorbers, offering a balanced and comfortable ride, especially on highways. It gets split seating for extra comfort during long rides. The rear seat can be removed to give it a single-seater bobber-like feel.
The bike also features a dual-channel ABS, making sure that braking remains smooth and safe in different conditions. The front gets a single disc brake, and the rear also comes with a disc brake unit, improving overall control.
Loaded with Useful Features for Daily and Touring Use
The Rebel 500 includes a fully digital instrument cluster that shows real-time speed, fuel level, gear position, and trip details. It is user-friendly and easy to read even in daylight.
In terms of lighting, the bike is fully LED-equipped, including headlight, tail light, and indicators, offering better visibility and a premium touch.
471cc Engine Offers Smooth Performance with 6-Speed Gearbox
The Honda Rebel 500 uses a 471cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that produces 47 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 43 Nm torque at 6,000 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch, which ensures smooth gear shifts and prevents wheel lock during sudden downshifts.
The engine is known for its refined performance and low vibration levels. This makes it ideal for long-distance touring as well as city cruising.
Price and Rivals in the Indian Market
Honda has launched the Rebel 500 at an ex-showroom price of ₹5.12 lakh. At this price point, it competes with other popular mid-size cruisers like the Kawasaki Vulcan S and Benelli 502C.
With Honda’s reputation for quality and performance, the Rebel 500 is expected to make a strong impression in the cruiser segment.
