In a special treat for Indian motorcycle enthusiasts just before Independence Day, Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles has unveiled the updated model of the Jawa 42. The 2024 edition of the Jawa 42 comes with significant updates and is priced lower than its previous version, making it an attractive option for bike lovers across the country. Competing directly with Royal Enfield, the new Jawa 42 is now available at a price that is ₹17,000 cheaper than before, starting from ₹1.73 lakh to ₹1.98 lakh (ex-showroom).

    Key Updates and Improvements

Jawa has made a concerted effort to enhance the bike in almost every aspect. The company has focused on improving the engine, NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) levels, and weight distribution, which are expected to offer riders a superior experience. The new Jawa 42 also features an updated design and a fresh palette of colors that add to its neo-classic appeal.

    Engine and Performance Enhancements

The new Jawa 42 continues to be powered by a 294.7cc liquid-cooled engine, similar to its predecessor. However, the bike now comes equipped with the third-generation J-Panther motor, which promises better performance and power. The updated engine offers improved thermal efficiency, enhanced crankshaft coordination, and reduced blow-by, contributing to lower NVH levels. Additionally, the engine is fitted with a new free-flow exhaust system, which is expected to further refine the bike’s performance.

Smooth Gear Transitions with 6-Speed Gearbox

One of the standout features of the new Jawa 42 is its 6-speed gearbox system, designed to make gear changes smoother and more effortless. The bike is equipped with an assist-and-slipper clutch, which reduces clutch effort by 50%, making it easier for riders to navigate through gears. The first three gears are optimized for low-speed riding, while the fourth to sixth gears are designed for high-speed cruising, especially on highways.

Enhanced Features, Design, and New Color Options

In terms of features, the new Jawa 42 is equipped with a fully digital LCD display, providing riders with all necessary information at a glance. The bike is also available with 18-inch alloy wheels in the front and 17-inch alloy wheels in the rear. For those who prefer a more classic look, an option with spoke wheels is also available. The bike comes with both single and dual-channel ABS options, along with disc brakes for enhanced safety.

Jawa has introduced six new colors with the 2024 edition of the Jawa 42, giving customers a total of 14 color options to choose from. The new colors include Vega White, Voyager Red, Asteroid Gray, Odyssey Black, Nebula Blue, and Celestial Copper Matte, offering a range of choices to suit different tastes.
