Toyota has given its popular SUV, the Fortuner, a fresh twist by introducing it in a hybrid version. With changing preferences of Indian buyers towards fuel-saving and eco-friendly technologies, the Fortuner Hybrid arrives with a diesel-hybrid powertrain and a range of premium features.

This new model, called the Neo Drive variant, is designed to maintain the Fortuner’s strong road presence while offering improved fuel efficiency.

New Hybrid Powertrain Adds Strength and Efficiency to Toyota Fortuner

Toyota has used a 2.8-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine under the hood of the Fortuner Hybrid. This engine is already known for delivering power and performance in the regular Fortuner.

Now, the company has paired it with a 48V mild-hybrid system, supported by a compact lithium-ion battery. This setup offers smoother acceleration and improved mileage. Toyota claims that this version can deliver a fuel efficiency of 14.6 kmpl, which is impressive for a large SUV in its segment.

    Key Engine Specs:

    • Engine: 2.8-litre Turbo Diesel
    • Power Output: 201 bhp
    • Torque: 500 Nm
    • Gearbox: 6-speed Automatic Transmission
    • Mileage: 14.6 kmpl (claimed)

    Stylish Design and Comfortable Interiors

Toyota has updated both the look and feel of the Fortuner Hybrid. The exterior includes a sleek LED headlamp setup, bold grille, and updated bumper. The single-tone body gives it a clean and strong look on the road.

Inside the cabin, the SUV comes with dual-tone leather seats, ergonomic layout, and top-quality materials. Toyota has ensured that passengers experience comfort, especially during long trips.

Safety Features Make It a Reliable Family SUV

Toyota Fortuner Hybrid also brings several advanced safety features. The company has added:

    • 7 Airbags
    • 360-Degree Camera
    • ABS with EBD
    • Hill Assist Control
    • Vehicle Stability Control (VSC)
    • Traction Control
    • Child Safety Locks
    • Seatbelt Warning Sensors

These features make it ideal for families looking for both performance and peace of mind.

Toyota Fortuner Hybrid Price and Delivery Timeline in India

The new Fortuner Hybrid comes with a starting price of ₹44.7 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for the SUV are already open across Toyota dealerships. Customers can expect deliveries to begin in the third week of June 2025.
