Maruti Suzuki, a brand loved by Indian customers for its affordability and reliability, has just made its two most affordable hatchbacks, the Alto K10 and S-Presso, even safer. In a move to enhance customer safety, Maruti has introduced the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) in these models without increasing their prices.

What Is the ESP Feature and How Does It Work?

The Electronic Stability Program (ESP) is a critical safety feature designed to prevent vehicles from skidding or losing control during sudden maneuvers or emergency braking. When a car is traveling at high speeds and suddenly brakes, there’s a risk of it overturning or skidding, especially on wet or slippery roads. The ESP works by monitoring the car’s movement through various sensors and automatically applies brakes to individual wheels to maintain stability. It works in conjunction with the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), traction control, and other stability control systems to keep the car on its intended path, reducing the likelihood of accidents.

Other Safety Features in Alto K10 and S-Presso

In addition to the newly added ESP, both the Maruti Alto K10 and S-Presso come equipped with several other safety features to protect drivers and passengers. These include:

    • Dual front airbags for both the driver and the front passenger.
    • Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) for better control during sudden braking.
    • Engine immobilizer, which prevents the engine from starting without the correct key, thus protecting against theft.
    • Reverse parking sensors that assist the driver in parking safely by alerting them to obstacles behind the car.

Furthermore, the automatic variants of these models also include Hill Hold Assist, a feature that prevents the vehicle from rolling backward when starting on an incline.

Maruti Alto K10 Price in India

The Maruti Alto K10 remains one of the most affordable hatchbacks in India, with the base variant priced at ₹3.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The top variant of this model is available at ₹5.96 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), making it an excellent option for budget-conscious buyers who prioritize safety.

    Maruti S-Presso Price in India

The Maruti S-Presso, another budget-friendly option, is priced at ₹4.26 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base variant. The top variant of the S-Presso is available for ₹6.11 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), offering a blend of affordability, style, and enhanced safety features.

With the addition of the ESP feature, Maruti Suzuki continues to reinforce its commitment to safety while maintaining the affordability of its vehicles. Whether you choose the Alto K10 or the S-Presso, you can now drive with greater peace of mind, knowing that your car is equipped with advanced safety technology to protect you and your loved ones on the road.
